My Road to Health: The Nourished Metabolism

Are you tired of dealing with exhaustion, stress, poor digestion, cold feet, and mood swings?

Let me share with you a little something I discovered after having a baby that all my mom-friends failed to mention; pregnancy, childbirth, and nursing can wreck havoc on a woman’s body.

I had heard of the 3 months period after delivery being referred to as “the third trimester” because your body is going through many changes while it gets back to normal…I’ve been on my third trimester for two years!

My baby was over a year old when I started to notice this wasn’t normal; my skin was dryer than usual, I was always cold, always exhausted, not tired, exhausted, my mood swings could put a PMSing teenager to shame, my digestion wasn’t quite healthy despite having discovered “Real Food” and eating healthier than ever. Something just wasn’t right. I went to see my family doctor who said I needed to eat more, stop nursing, and sleep more. Ha!

I figured my symptoms were occupational hazards of being a new mom plus juggling a part time job and nursing school full time.

Then, I friend of mine, and blogger, wrote a post on adrenal fatigue which got me started into my research on hormone imbalance and unbalanced metabolism for that matter. It wasn’t until Elizabeth Walling’s book The Nourished Metabolism came into my life that it really opened my eyes to what I was doing wrong and how to heal myself.

After reading The Nourished Metabolism, my health took a turn for the best; I know I am on the right path to heal and to nourish myself. I am finally starting to feel like the old me? Can you relate?
